Senior Management

Michael McGowan
President

Michael attended Cornell University and received a BS in Applied Economics and Marketing. After graduation he accepted a position as an Investment Officer with Society National Bank, located in Cleveland, Ohio. There he assisted in managing and hedging the bank's balance against interest rate risk.

In 1991, after initiating an MBA program at Case Western Reserve, he saw a unique opportunity to take advantage of a depressed real estate market in the Baltimore area. It was then that he moved to Annapolis and started MCF Capital, a commercial real estate investment firm.

Michael first became involved with Heath in 2001. Lacking a background in architecture, he relied on instinct and his extensive background in the financial and commercial real estate industries to successfully build the firm's presence and project portfolio in the Mid-Atlantic region.

As President of Heath Design Group, Michael McGowan oversees and participates in all facets of the firm's day-to-day operations and financial decisions. This allows the architects and designers to focus on delivering creative and responsible design solutions and the highest level of client satisfaction.

Michael is currently Vice President of the Historic Charles Street Association and Treasurer/Past President of the Cornell Club of Maryland.
